    Utilizing Performing Arts to Inspire the Transformation of Pain into Power! 

    Coco LaRain Veira

    A multi-award winning TedTalk Speaker on a mission to inspire the transformation of pain into passion, purpose and power. Coco has been inspiring audiences of all ages for over 20 years with her story "The Journey from Abused Teenage Mother to Motivational Speaker".

     

    In 2001 Coco founded Inspired by Coco and has worked with over 500 schools and community organizations. As a professional Vocal Artist, Dramatist and Spoken Word Poet, Coco utilizes the arts to engage and educate audiences of all ages through the many organizations she works with including the Future Aces Foundation, Spoken' Heard, and numerous Public and Catholic school boards across the Greater Toronto Area.

     

    Coco has mentored over 300 young women through the B.E.L.L.A.S. project within over 20 community organizations including group homes, elementary and secondary schools, alternative schools, programs for teenage mothers, churches and community centers. Teachers, Administrators and Social Workers have invited Coco back year after year to facilitate her assemblies, workshops and afterschool programs.

     

    Coco is currently focused on her passion project "B.E.L.L.A.S. Broken Heals" through which she trains young women to follow in her footsteps and transform pain into power.

    Coco has enjoyed performing at many of Toronto's hot spots including Nawlins,

    The Jazz Bistro and Western Harbour Castles Hotel. She has also performed numerous bands and will be releasing her first single in 2019.

    OUR MISSION IS TO INSPIRE YOUNG WOMEN TO EMBRACE THEMSELVES AS

    BEAUTIFUL EDUCATED LOVING LIBERATED ABLE AND SUCCESSFUL.

    Founded by Coco LaRain, The B.E.L.L.A.S. Project works with community organizations to inspire the young women they serve. We facilitate presentations, small group workshops and on-going training programs that address the many challenges young women face today including trauma and abuse.

    We teach the practical strategies young women can utilize to transform pain into power. The B.E.L.L.A.S. Project expressive-arts based curriculum focus on self esteem, education, relationships and lifestyle

    Coco works with numerous organizations across the GTA to inspire children, youth, adults and families.

    She specializes in customizing presentations and workshops to meet the needs of each organizations she works with.

    Co-Founded by Natasha Helwig and Coco LaRain, Broken Heals is dedicated to inspiring, educating and celebrating women through inspirational events, therapeutic arts workshops and life skills coaching. We help women use their brokenness to heal themselves and others.

    Coco is a multi-award winning Ted Talk speaker with 23 years of experience inspiring youth with her story “The Journey from Abused Teenage Mother to Motivational Speaker, Mentor and workshop Leader”. Coco has spoken to thousands of young people at over 500 schools, conferences, churches and universities since she started her career in 1992.     Coco’s lived experiences provide her with a real advantage, having experienced childhood abuse and teenage pregnancy, Coco can fully relate to young women facing similar challenges. Her transparent approach opens the lines of communication between the Teachers, Guidance Counselors and Social Workers and the youth, young women Coco primarily servers who are all too often suffering in silence.     Knowing that students have different learning and communication styles there is a need to utilize alternative approaches and methodologies to ensure students are engaged. Coco is a professionally trained and experienced Vocal Artist, Actor and Spoken Word Poet who specializes in utilizing the arts to engage, educate and equip participants throughout the learning process. It’s the combination of personal and leadership development and performing arts training at its best.

    4. Easy to Work With

    It was a Teacher, a Social Worker and a Public Health Nurse at Coco’s high school that gave her the opportunity to share her story which start her Motivational Speaking Career over 23 years ago and Coco has truly enjoyed working with Educators ever since. Coco knows the value of building strong partnerships with open lines of communication with the dedicated Educators she works with to ensure the B.E.L.L.A.S. project programs meet the needs of the students in their care.
